SiM has been setting fires to global stages since their inception in 2004. SiM, short for Silence iz Mine, hails from the Kanagawa Prefecture. Comprising MAH (vocals), SHOW-HATE (guitar), SIN (bass), and GODRi (drums), SiM’s music is an amalgamation of Heavy Metal, Punk, and Nu Metal to name a few, and paired with rebellious lyrics delivered mostly in English.
The band’s journey took a significant turn in 2022 when they signed with Pony Canyon. Their single The Rumbling catapulted them into international recognition as it became the opening theme for the anime Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2. The single’s impact wasn’t confined to minor popularity; it successfully made its mark on the US Billboard charts. The Rumbling claimed the No. 1 spot on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, secured the No. 5 position on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles, landed at No. 2 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, and reached No. 13 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart as well.

Throughout the years, SiM experienced member changes and a constant evolution of their sound. Although they faced countless ups and downs, their resilience led them to the release of their first full album, Silence iz Mine, in 2008, and it wasn’t long before their music grabbed the attention of an international audience.
In 2013, SiM made a major debut with Universal Music Japan, propelling them further into the limelight. Their album Pandora reached the fifth spot on the Oricon weekly chart. With hits like Existence and Crows charting on Billboard Japan Hot 100. In 2016 the band released another album called The Beautiful People leading them to perform in the USA and securing their place in prestigious festivals.
SiM recently performed in the UK at the Download Music Festival and in London, at the O2 Islington Academy. The group is currently on their extensive US Tour while supporting DANCE GAVIN DANCE.

With their upcoming album PLAYDEAD set for release on September 27th, 2023, SiM are not planning to stop anytime soon. A few days ago, View of the Arts had the privilege of capturing their immense energy on Shrine Expo Hall’s stage. SiM performed nine songs, including Get Up Get Up, DO THE DANCE, Blah Blah Blah, GUNSHOTS as well as one of their biggest hits The Rumbling. Although it was only our photographer attending the show, one can see that she captured the energy of the band. SiM also promised that they will have their own headline tour in the US in 2024. Fingers crossed for the UK again.
