OHL (One Hundred Liminal), a dance and vocal group, has become a little sensation in Japan’s music scene. Comprising of seven members: Junya (Vocalist/Leader), KTA (Vocalist), Nao (Rapper/Performer), Shuru (Centre), Kanna (Rapper/Vocalist), Ryusei (Raper/Dancer) and GEN (Vocalist), the group has taken a bold step by establishing themselves as an independent idol group. This opportunity gave the young men artistic freedom when it comes to every aspect of their music and performances. OHL leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of delivering J-pop to those unfamiliar with the genre itself. And with each member bringing their individual charms to the table, one can hope that, as an independent group, they will manage to thrive not only in Japan but also overseas.

Recently, OHL announced a series of new releases starting with their fourth single, Periodt., which is set to be released on August 22nd, the song will explore the romantic world of member GEN and the inner conflict of a man entangled in an addictive love. Following closely, the group will unveil their fifth single, SENSUAL, on August 29th. According to OHL, this slow R&B number “delves into the bittersweet emotions and underlying anxieties that linger as two people draw closer together, creating special moments.”

On September 3rd, OHL will release their sixth single, Change Ma Life, a powerful anthem reflecting “the determination to break free from conventional notions of the past and seize a desired future”. Not only are the members of OHL decent performers, but they are also active participants in the songwriting and composition process, enriching their music with a personal touch. Collaborating with renowned producer RYUJA has further broadened their sound, leading to the group’s artistic growth.
In addition, OHL’s mini-album, PEACE ONE, will be released on September 3rd, coinciding with their long-awaited one-man live concert. Without a doubt, August and September will be filled with exciting releases from this Japanese group.
