Since their debut in 2021, the South Korean boy band EPEX, short for Eight Apex, has been making waves in the K-pop industry with their unique mix of talent and charisma. Led by Wish, the group includes Keum, MU, A-Min, Baekseung, Ayden, Yewang, and Jeff.
To those who are not familiar with EPEX, the groups said that the name, “represents the culmination of eight individuals reaching their own personal peaks of excellence, creating a harmonious synergy that propels the group’s success.”
Under the management of C9 Entertainment, the company made a smart move by building anticipation with each member being introduced gradually, presenting their individual talents and personalities. On June 8, 2021, EPEX unveiled their debut EP titled Bipolar Pt.1: Prelude of Anxiety along with the lead single Lock Down. The same year, they released Bipolar Pt.2: Prelude of Love featuring the lead single Do 4 Me. This particular EP showed that their artistry was quickly evolving and had a knack for producing emotional songs.
2022, on the other hand, proved to be another important year for EPEX as they continued their Prelude series. Their third EP, Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 1. ’21st Century Boys’, was introduced to the world with the lead single Anthem of Teen Spirit. EPEX’s popularity is not only limited to South Korea. In October 2022, the group released their fourth EP, Prelude of Love Chapter 1. ‘Puppy Love’, featuring the lead single Hymn To Love. The EP’s release was also celebrated with an online showcase, with international fans present. Soon after, EPEX embarked on their first international concert tour, Eight Apex, starting in Seoul and spanning cities like Osaka, Tokyo, Taipei, and Kuala Lumpur, representing the group’s desire to connect with fans globally.
Their 5th EP, Prelude of Love Chapter 2. ‘Growing Pains’, was presented to the fans in April of this year. And what’s more exciting is that EPEX is about to release their 6th EP, Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2. ‘Can We Surrender’, and ahead of that release, the group unveiled a teaser video that shows that this EP will be one of a kind.
Undoubtedly, the group has been working hard to carve their path in the K-pop industry, and while doing so, they are building their global fan base quickly. We can’t wait for their new release on October 4th.
