Dreams turn into reality through talent, hard work, and the relentless pursuit of one’s passion. For the rising South Korean boy group, 82MAJOR, this journey has finally led to their official debut under GREAT M Entertainment. The group’s debut single, titled ON.

“I have so many mixed emotions, so every day feels new to me. I still cannot believe that I’ll debut and appear on the stage that I’ve been dreaming of stepping on only through watching TV. Nam Seong Mo

With two title tracks, SURE THING and FIRST CLASS, 82MAJOR shared their debut excitement and aspirations with the world. SURE THING bursts with a refreshing and cheerful sound, epitomising the group’s celebration of the future and the prospect of meeting their fans. What makes it even more special is that members Nam Seong Mo and Hwang Seong Bin contributed to writing the lyrics, infusing the song with their own words and emotions. Behind this musical gem were renowned figures, such as South Korean producer and songwriter Ryan Jhun, who worked with Shinee, Super Junior, f(x), Taeyeon, Exo, NCT, and TVXQ, as well as IU, Loona, Lee Hyo-ri, U-KISS, Girl’s Day, Twice, Oh My Girl, Monsta X, and Ive, the platinum-selling songwriter Wyatt Sanders, and multi-platinum & Billboard #1 K-Pop Charting producer and songwriter Charles Frank Rhodes Jr.

“To be honest, I still can’t believe that I’m debuting as 82MAJOR, but filming our music video and variety programs suddenly made me realize, ‘This is happening right now.’ I was a trainee for about 6-7 years, and I kept wondering, ‘Will I really debut?’, ‘Debut seems like a dream that is so far away’ or ‘Is this really my path?’ during those years. Now that we’re about to make our debut, I can finally see it happening in real life! We’re finally debuting as 82MAJOR. Please look forward to our future endeavors and send a lot of support! Yoon Ye Chan

The second title track, FIRST CLASS, sends a message of determination and confidence. It symbolises the group’s unchanging belief in each other as they began their journey together as a group. Here, too, 82MAJOR members played an active role in making the song, with Nam Seong Mo, Hwang Seong Bin, and Yoon Ye Chan participating in the songwriting process. Joining them was K-pop singer-songwriter Roydo as well as the platinum-awarded producer and topliner Frederik Jyll. 

82MAJOR’s visual storytelling through their music videos shows that they have a lot to offer as artists. The group collaborated with celebrated video directors Woogie Kim and Hyunji Lee. Woogie Kim’s impressive portfolio includes works for artists like BTS, IU, and HYUNA, while Hyunji Lee has made her mark in the commercial world, doing advertisements for brands like Samsung Galaxy, Hyundai, and Kia. 

82MAJOR is not just any K-pop group; they’re a six-member ensemble with a deep sense of identity and purpose. Comprising Nam Seong Mo, Park Seok Joon, Yoon Ye Chan, Cho Seong Il, Hwang Seong Bin, and Kim Do Gyun, their collective vision truly shines through every note and move they make. Inspired by South Korea’s country code, 82, and fueled by their aspiration to pioneer a new direction in K-pop, they’re driven to establish themselves as a major presence on the global music stage.
