AB6IX is a South Korean boy group formed by Brand New Music. The group, currently composed of Jeon Woong, Kim Dong-hyun, Park Woo-jin, and Lee Dae-hwi, made their debut on May 22, 2019, with their first EP, B.
Before their official debut, Lim Young-min, Kim Dong-hyun, Park Woo-jin, and Lee Dae-hwi participated in the Mnet survival series Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017. Dae-hwi and Woo-jin secured spots in the temporary boy group Wanna One by placing 3rd and 6th, respectively, while Young-min and Dong-hyun placed 15th and 28th. In September 2017, Young-min and Dong-hyun debuted as the duo MXM, releasing their first EP Unmix, and presenting great energy and growth through various EPs and a full-length album.
AB6IX’s debut EP B featured seven tracks including the lead single Breathe. The group’s debut showcase took place at the Olympic Hall on the same day, and they made their debut stage performance on Mnet’s M Countdown on May 23. They quickly gained popularity, winning their first music show trophy on MBC Music’s Show Champion on June 5.
Their early success continued with their first fan meeting in Singapore on July 27, 2019, and a collaboration with Lizzo on a remix of her song Truth Hurts in September. On October 7, AB6IX released their first studio album 6ixense, followed by their first solo concert in South Korea on November 9.
In early 2020, AB6IX released their digital EP 5nally, containing solo tracks from each member. However, their international tour plans were disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following Lim Young-min’s departure in June 2020, the group’s comeback with their second EP Vivid was postponed and later released on June 29. They held their first online solo concert So Vivid on September 12 and released their third EP Salute on November 2.

AB6IX continued to expand their reach in 2021 and 2022 with international collaborations and their Japanese debut. They released a remix of Why Don’t We’s “Fallin’ (Adrenaline)” and their fourth EP Mo Complete: Have a Dream in April 2021, followed by their second studio album Mo Complete in September. Their Japanese debut EP Absolute 6ix was released on November 24, 2021.
The group kicked off 2022 with the special album Complete with You in January and their fifth EP A to B in May, featuring the lead single Savior. They embarked on their fan meeting tour AB_NEW AREA in June, visiting several countries including Japan, the United States, and Thailand. Their second Japanese EP Savior was released on August 17, followed by their special single Chance and a collaboration with Faroese singer Reiley on the song Moonlight.
On October 4, 2022, AB6IX released their sixth EP Take a Chance, which included the lead single Sugarcoat and a Korean version of Chance.
In March 2023, Victor Entertainment announced AB6IX’s first original Japanese single Fly Away, set for release on May 10, 2023, and featured as the ending theme for the Fuji TV anime Fugitive Great Mission. AB6IX released their seventh extended play The Future is Ours: Lost on May 29, 2023, followed by their eighth EP The Future is Ours: Found on January 22, 2024, with the pop-rock lead single Grab Me.
