Crunchyroll has confirmed that the much-anticipated film, “OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom“, will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland starting November 8th. This marks the first feature film in the popular “”OVERLORD” franchise and continues the epic storyline after the conclusion of Season 4.
The movie, based on the light novels by Kugane Maruyama, is distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. It will be available in Japanese with English subtitles as well as an English dub.
Synopsis:
After twelve years of playing his favorite MMORPG, Momonga logs in for the last time only to be transported into the game world as his character, Sorcerer King Ains Ooal Gown. The story follows his adventures as he navigates this new reality.
In the film, the once-thriving Sacred Kingdom faces ruin after years of peace, its walls no longer able to fend off the invasion of the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth and his demi-human army. In a desperate plea for help, the neighboring Slane Theocracy turns to the Sorcerer Kingdom and its leader, Ains Ooal Gown, to join forces against the new threat.
