On November 9th, BLUE LOCK fans were thrilled as Kodansha revealed the lineup for the Japan U-20 National Team, which will challenge the BLUE LOCK XI in the BLUE LOCK anime’s second season. The Japan U-20 team, which debuted in Episode 29, includes formidable players like Oliver Aiku, Ryusei Shidou, and Sae Itoshi—the latter being the brother of BLUE LOCK’s own Rin Itoshi. This clash sets the stage for an intense showdown that highlights BLUE LOCK’s theme of rivalry and ambition.
The full Japan U-20 roster, along with their voice actors, was also introduced, adding to the excitement surrounding the season. Key cast members include Chiaki Kobayashi as Ranse Kurosa, Jun Kasama as Kento Chou, Gakuto Kajiwara as Teru Kitsunezato, Takahiro Sakurai as Sae Itoshi, and Yuichi Nakamura as Ryusei Shidou.
BLUE LOCK, based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s popular manga, follows Japan’s quest for World Cup success. To achieve this goal, the Japanese Football Association has launched a bold program that pits 300 high school players against each other to discover the nation’s next top striker. Season 2 raises the stakes as the remaining 35 players face off against Japan’s U-20 National Team, testing their unity and individual prowess as they strive for the coveted striker position.
This season continues to stream on Crunchyroll every Saturday at 17:00 GMT, alongside the first season and BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE – EPISODE NAGI, which are also available for streaming.
