The Closing Night of FEFF 26 will begin with the prestigious awarding of Lifetime Achievement Golden Mulberries to both Zhang Yimou and Chiu Fu-sheng, followed by the screening of the restored version of To Live. The festival’s conclusion will feature the world premiere of Herman Yau’s thrilling new action film, Customs Frontline. Herman Yau, screenwriter Erica Li, and Hong Kong superstar Nicholas Tse will join the audience during the screening.
In 1996, Tse made his debut as a singer before transitioning his career towards acting. His important achievement came in 2011 when he secured the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor for his role in The Stool Pigeon, thereby becoming the inaugural individual to triumph across the three significant acting categories—Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best New Performer—at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
Tse also appeared in other noteworthy films throughout his career, including Young and Dangerous: The Prequel, Gen-X Cops, New Police Story, and Invisible Target. His performance in Bodyguards and Assassins earned him an Asian Film Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 4th Asian Film Awards.

It is interesting to know that Tse showed off his martial arts skills under the guidance of industry veterans such as Jackie Chan and Chung Chi Li, preparing for roles in Gen-X-Cops and Invisible Target. He also collaborated with Donnie Yen in the martial arts film Dragon Tiger Gate. Beyond the silver screen, Tse has ventured into television dramas, appearing in productions such as Aiming High, The Monkey King: Quest for the Sutra, and The Proud Twins.
The bond between Herman Yau and FEFF has blossomed since 1999, marked by a journey that began with The Untold Story III and has flourished with each passing year, presenting a total of 15 films to audiences in the Far East. Customs Frontline presents another milestone in this cinematic journey, a blockbuster set in Hong Kong that depicts chaos and intrigue. When a container ship appears in Hong Kong waters, customs officers led by the cocky Chow Ching-lai (Nicholas Tse) uncover a grisly scene: the crew’s corpses and a cache of weapons, including a valuable compass. Unbeknownst to them, an international incident looms on the horizon.
Celebrating the revered blend of Hong Kong action and entertainment, Herman Yau and Nicholas Tse reintroduce the quintessential cinema beloved by FEFF audiences to the forefront.
