Bang Yongguk is, without a doubt, one of our favourite South Korean rappers; he is also a singer, songwriter, and record producer. Formerly the leader of the boy group B.A.P, Yongguk began his solo career over a decade ago. His journey in the music industry began in 2008 as a member of the underground hip-hop group Soul Connection under the alias Jepp Blackman. In 2011, he gained significant attention with his feature on Song Ji-eun’s single Going Crazy, which topped the charts in South Korea.
Yongguk continued to make waves in the music scene, releasing his first solo digital single, I Remember, in July 2011. Later that year, he teamed up with fellow B.A.P member Zelo to form the sub-unit Bang & Zelo, releasing the single Never Give Up. B.A.P debuted in January 2012, quickly gaining acclaim for their powerful and charismatic performances. And while the group has stopped their activities, some B.A.P members will be back with new material as they promised a long time ago.
