“The next big goal is to be the happiest team!” is how member CHRIS positively responds when asked what’s next for the group after their triumphant run on Britain’s Got Talent. For a group such as BLITZERS, they have had an exciting career since their debut back in 2021 with their first EP, Check-In. In the short time since their debut, they’ve accomplished great awards, including the Focus Music Award at the Asia Artist Awards.
Those goals grew exponentially higher, which saw them in the limelight over here in the UK, where the five-piece appeared on the popular TV talent show back in May. Appearing on a big platform that is watched by TV households every Saturday night can sound daunting to any artist taking to the stage. But that didn’t deter the boys, if anything, it served as motivation to face such a big challenge. Rapper and vocalist SYA explains: “First and foremost, the challenge was incredible, and I learned so much about how to truly enjoy the performance from the talented participants I met there.” Continuing to learn more about themselves and what they’re capable of as LUTAN puts it “I was inspired by the other participants from various fields, and I believe we discovered more efficient and effective ways to practice together than we had before.”
The preliminary round saw them perform Shawn Mendes There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back showcasing their polished choreography and charm which got the approval of the judges panel and through to the semi-finals. It was time to prepare for another round of practices but they took it in their stride as SYA explains: “We selected a song that we wanted to do for the semi-final. We had to prepare the choreography part in a short time and show our strengths and charms, so we got help from the experienced choreography team,” with CHRIS adding, “We wanted to show our strengths as a team, so we chose a song that could weave our story into its lyrics.”
Speaking of lyrics, their latest comeback in June saw the release of their fourth EP, Lunchbox. The album included six tracks, of which all the members contributed to writing the B-side tracks. Naturally writing lyrics holds a special skill, drawing from specific stories, and interweaving personal experiences, but how does one go about putting pen to paper? JINHWA, the group’s leader, discussed how vacation time helped shape their songwriting process, “I think when we were on vacation, we thought hard about what message to put in it.” CHRIS agrees that their message is just as important, “I always think about my lifestyle first and write a true story about myself so that I can give our fans my messages.”
The aforementioned messages take center stage in their title track Superpower which is all about finding your own strength, so it only felt correct to ask the boys just what their own superpower is.
Unsurprisingly, that main superpower is all thanks to their fandom, BLEE. As LUTAN tells us, “Because BLEE can cheer us up! It’s my superpower to support and like us even in our daily lives.” Besides BLEE, WOOJU wisely points to the power of free time, saying, “I think free time is my superpower because I value personal time. I think I gain strength when I organize my thoughts and pursue hobbies during my free time.” Of course, with fresh tracks come plenty of performances to promote. When asked which song they enjoy performing the most, the answer was Superpower. JUHAN cheerfully declares, “Superpower is a special song that can give good messages to many people in LUNCH-BOX, and it’s exciting when we perform.” SYA agrees, choosing the same song, “Because the song that I participated in the choreography for is meaningful, and it’s fun to perform on stage.”

Jumping into the future and with the K-pop world a beautiful mix of the vibrant, and creative it can be hard for groups to stand out with fresh concepts and try something different but the members are up for the challenge with CHRIS saying “Since we’ve done a lot of colorful concepts I feel like it’s best to show them a different side of it. So maybe a dark concept next time.” Agreeing, LUTAN reveals his desire to show a more mature side of himself next time.
With 2024 shaping up to be another milestone year, the members share their personal and group goals for the future. With JINHWA looking far ahead, not just to the next performance, but to his long-term well-being and passion for dance, he enthusiastically says, “I take good care of my body and dance to Breathe Again at my 60th birthday party.”
For JUHAN, the group’s connection with their fans is paramount: “First of all, we opened our own SNS. We want to show you various sides of us through more content,” he explains, then comments further, “I really want to let people hear my own song in 2024. I’ll try my best!”
“I think I want to perform at many festivals!” SYA exclaims, with CHRIS nodding and adding, “The next big goal is to be the happiest team! I think it’s always best to stay healthy and be safe so that we can see each other for a long time.”
Looking to the future, LUTAN is ambitious about the group’s growth on the world stage. “I want to explore more diverse performances on a bigger stage,” he says, perhaps hinting at something significant on the horizon.
Lastly, WOOJU shares a simple yet beautiful wish: “My goal is to be happy without any major problems.”
As Blitzers look ahead to what’s next, their focus remains on their fans, their health, and their happiness. With clear goals and a shared sense of purpose, BLITZERS are ready to take on 2025, bringing their passion, creativity, and joy to every performance and project. We wish them all the best!
