Rising girl group KATSEYE will release their second EP, Beautiful Chaos, on June 27 via HYBE x Geffen Records. Following the success of their debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong), which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists and Heatseekers Albums charts, the group returns with a new sound exploring the highs and lows of modern girlhood in both the real and digital world. Pre-order or pre-save Beautiful Chaos here.
Formed through the Dream Academy series and Netflix’s Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, the group found inspiration in the idea of “beautiful chaos” – a reflection of finding connection and strength in a fast, unpredictable world. The group includes six members from across the globe: Daniela (Cuban/Venezuelan-American, from Atlanta, GA), Lara (Indian, from New York, NY), Manon (Ghanaian-Italian, from Zurich, Switzerland), Megan (Chinese-American, from Honolulu, HI), Sophia (Manila, Philippines), and Yoonchae (Seoul, South Korea).
On Beautiful Chaos, KATSEYE expands its sound with help from returning songwriter Justin Tranter and new collaborators like Andrew Watt, John Ryan, and Kristin Carpenter.
Lead single “Gnarly” is a fierce club track packed with heavy 808s and wild rave synths. It quickly reached #1 on YouTube’s Trending Music list and racked up over 8 million views, with critics saying:
“Abrasive, camp, totally chaotic… KATSEYE embraces an edgier sound.” – The FADER
“Genre-defying and boundary-breaking.” – Hypebae
“High-octane… We can’t wait to see where they go next.” – Billboard
KATSEYE is quickly becoming a group to watch. They’ve been named rising stars by VEVO DSCVR and TIDAL, earned two iHeartRadio nominations, and were featured by Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan, V Magazine, Interview, and more. Their debut EP SIS included hits like Debut and Touch, and the group has already performed on Good Morning America, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and at the MAMA Awards.
As they step into their next chapter with Beautiful Chaos, KATSEYE is focused on conquering the music world. Can they do it? ABSOLUTELY!
“We want KATSEYE to be timeless and to have a lasting influence,” the group says. “Not just for now — we want forever.”
