Power rookie K-pop girl group RESCENE are back and, honestly, brighter than ever. On November 25th, the quartet officially returned with their 3rd mini album, lip bomb, a project shining with colours, confidence, and the pop energy that is their signature.
Built around a playful “berry” concept, the album contains five tracks, each inspired by a different berry and, according to the girls, connected through themes of “self-trust, growth, and youthful vibrancy“. Visually and sonically, lip bomb continues to show that rookie groups are getting stronger each year. RESCENE is definitely one of the most refreshing new acts in the industry.
Leading the comeback is the title track Bloom, a very happy pop number that celebrates courage and that magical moment when everything finally clicks into place. The song feels like discovering sunlight you didn’t know you needed. It also reflects that exciting feeling of realising, “This is my moment.” There’s no fear or hesitation, just a warm spark of confidence getting brighter. The members sing about getting closer to their true selves and letting a small inner light grow into something bright and beautiful. It’s a gentle reminder to move at your own pace, take a breath, put on a little lip balm, and face the day believing you can try anything.
Three weeks before release, RESCENE stoked excitement with a pre-release of their second title track, Heart Drop, along with a wave of content – concept photos, MV teasers, and choreography snippets – which got their fans very excited.
Their achievements so far include:
- 1st mini album SCENEDROME (March 2024) ranked #24 on Billboard’s Best K-Pop Albums of 2024
- Title track Love Attack featured on NME and The GRAMMYs’ “Best K-Pop Songs of the Year” lists
- Glow Up, the title track of their 2nd mini album, was chosen for Billboard’s Best K-Pop Songs of 2025
- Selected as one of NME’s “The NME 100: Essential Emerging Artists for 2025.”
With lip bomb, RESCENE continues to walk a successful path, offering a charming, colourful project that shows their evolving work.
