Japanese singer-songwriter and composer Centimillimental has released his latest digital single, CO-WRITE, alongside music video, an exciting international collaboration with acclaimed Korean producer and musician EL CAPITXN.
The collaboration brings together two artists knwn for their great musical versatility. EL CAPITXN, widely recognised as one of South Korea’s leading producers, has worked with some of the biggest names in K-pop, including BTS member SUGA and his alter ego Agust D, IU, PSY, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN and ZEROBASEONE.
According to Centimillimental, the partnership came about through a mutual connection. Fascinated by EL CAPITXN’s ability to move effortlessly between genres and styles, he approached the producer with the idea of creating something together — a decision that ultimately led to of CO-WRITE.
CO-WRITE explores the irreplaceable moments shared between people, capturing how everyday conversations, emotions and experiences gradually become intertwined. The song embraces both the joy and vulnerability that come with forming meaningful human connections. However, the song’s emotional centre also reflects the reality of its own creation.
For Centimillimental, who has spent much of his career writing and producing music independently, collaborating so closely with another artist represented both a personal and creative challenge.
“For most of my life, music was something I created alone,” Centimillimental explains. “Meeting EL CAPITXN felt like an opportunity to discover new possibilities for myself as an artist. During the production process, there were moments when our ideas completely clashed. But by communicating honestly and aligning our vision, we found a way forward together.”
Their different ideas ended up becoming an important part of the project.
“Our artistic visions sometimes collided, but it wasn’t a conflict that divided us,” says EL CAPITXN. “It was a creative tension that helped us express our shared emotions more honestly and more accurately.”
Beyond its message about relationships, CO-WRITE is also a reflection on collaboration and the trust and honesty required to create something meaningful together.
“That journey became CO-WRITE,” Centimillimental adds. “It’s a piece of music I could never have reached on my own. I hope it resonates with anyone who has experienced the irreplaceable emotions that come from sharing their life with someone else.”
For EL CAPITXN, the collaboration also represents a broader truth about music and human connection.
“I believe music is a process through which people who have lived different lives discover the same emotions,” he says. “Great music is not always born from safe agreement. Sometimes it emerges from the kind of creative collision that refuses to let genuine emotion slip away. If this song can make someone pause for a moment in their day and reflect on the time they have lived through, then I believe it has already fulfilled its purpose.”
The release arrives as Centimillimental continues his international expansion through his ongoing Centimillimental WORLD TOUR 2025–2026 ‘Cafuné’, with upcoming performances scheduled across Asia.
