After crashing onto the scene with their debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong) and snagging the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists and Heatseekers Albums Charts, KATSEYE are back and louder than ever. Enter Gnarly, a no-holds-barred club banger filled with thundering 808s, rave-ready synths, and a swagger that refuses to quit. It’s bold, brash, and totally KATSEYE.
Produced by Pink Slip, Tim Randolph, HYBE founder “hitman” Bang, and Slow Rabbit, Gnarly is a great statement for the digital generation: overstimulated, hyper-connected, and hungry for something real.
“We want people to feel the vibes, to really connect with our music,” says the group. “Gnarly feels true to us; it’s bold, it’s fun, and it shows a different side of what we’re about. It feels good to share more of that as we grow alongside the EYEKONS.” (That’s their fandom – and yes, they’re everywhere.)
Tipped as one of 2025’s breakout acts by both VEVO DSCVR and TIDAL, KATSEYE are not here to follow the rules; they are boldly changing them. The first-ever global girl group to rise from the elite K-pop training system with a Western pop twist, KATSEYE is a multicultural supernova. The lineup: Daniela (Atlanta, Cuban/Venezuelan-American), Lara (New York, Indian), Manon (Zurich, Ghanaian-Italian), Megan (Honolulu, Chinese-American), Sophia (Manila, Philippines), and Yoonchae (Seoul, South Korea) – ages 17 to 22, and each bringing their own fire.
Formed through HYBE and Geffen Records’ Dream Academy project (chronicled in Netflix’s Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE), the group has had no chill since day one. Their debut single Debut landed on Rolling Stone’s Songs You Need to Know, while their follow-up Touch. made Billboard’s list of The 100 Best Songs of 2024. Their EP SIS was a critics’ darling – featured in Interview, PAPER, Cosmo, V Magazine, OUT, and even gracing the first-ever social-first cover of InStyle. Oh, and they’ve already hit the stages of Good Morning America, GMA3, and The Kelly Clarkson Show.
With two 2025 iHeartRadio Music Award nominations and a jaw-dropping MAMA Awards performance under their belt (shoutout to their collab with the L.A. Rams Cheerleaders), KATSEYE are not slowing down. The Los Angeles Times raved about their “commanding stage presence,” while Billboard praised their “high-flying rendition” of Debut and Touch. They’re also starring in Fendi’s latest campaign and fronting a new Pepsi ad – just in case you needed a reminder, they’re everywhere.
With Gnarly, KATSEYE leans into contradiction: soft yet savage, sleek yet raw. It’s a vibe. It’s a warning. It’s a flex. And it’s clear: the girls are not only shining, but they’re also blazing their own path through pop’s next era.
